About Us

PAIRS represents its members at various levels:

• At the hospital level you are represented when needed in such areas as grievances, and formal discussions with administration. There are a number of hospital committees on which you may be interested in participating.

• At the university level you are represented on the Post Graduate Education Committee, the Sub-Committee for Pre-registration, and through accreditation surveys. At this level we are trying to improve workload, call requirements and educational components to name a few issues.

• At the provincial level, we negotiate with the government for your contracts. We are continuously striving to improve salaries and other benefits of your contract to maintain parity with other provinces. We also have voting privileges on the Representative Assembly of the Saskatchewan Medical Association.

• At the national level, you are represented through the Canadian Association of Internes and Residents on the boards of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Canadian Medical Association and the Federation of Medical Licensing Authorities of Canada, to name a few.
